World Humanitarian Day is celebrated by the United Nations on 19th August each year, to commemorate people helping people!! That is what Children Of Mother Earth is all about.
To spread the message of humanitarianism, we organised a ten day exhibition in Singapore from 19th to 26th August, 2013. The exhibition was to promote our humanitarian work in India with underprivileged children. We used posters, videos and PowerPoint presentations to raise awareness of the 40 million impoverished children categorised as street children, child labour, sex slaves, orphans, abandoned children and trapped children.
“It gives me a lot of strength and confidence when I look around at the people helping us from different parts of the world” - Ravi Rai
The text of the posters was done by Ron Cook from Australia. He flew to Singapore at his own expense to help us. Our Chinese friend from Singapore, Meng Foo, did an amazing job designing the posters. Yuki Mori and Chiho from Japan printed and posted pictures on archival paper taken during their India trip. A video made by our Canadian friend Lorraine Wilson was loved by our visitors. Pictures taken by our friends from The Journey group and Core Value were used.
